Roess is the principal cardiologist and founder of Hearts 1st. He has over 20 years experience in cardiology and has applied his expertise to practices in Australia and the United States.
Roess was raised and educated in Queensland, completing his cardiology specialisation at the Prince Charles Hospital. He continued as consultant at the Prince Charles and Royal Brisbane Hospitals and was responsible for initiating the RBH Transoesophageal Echo service. In order to further his experience, Roess moved to the United States to complete a two-year research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.
When he returned to Brisbane in 1995 Roess took up the position of Director of Echocardiography at laboratories within the Wesley and Greenslopes Private Hospitals.
In 1999, Roess founded Hearts 1st with a vision to deliver high-quality, non-invasive cardiac testing for patients. Today, Roess has a continuing interest in cutting-edge echocardiography technology and applying these advancements to his clinical practice.
